Getting there

The journey to The River Cottage is part of the adventure.

Important things to note on your journey

Turning onto Bundarbo Road

Your adventure begins by turning off onto Bundarbo Road, located between the Jugiong town centre (where the pub is) and the Ampol service station. The turn-off is clearly marked and easy to spot.

Scenic Drive

After turning, simply follow the road for approximately 25 minutes. You’ll cross a bridge and travel along country roads that transition between bitumen and dirt. Keep going - you're on the right path! Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.

Cattle Grids & Signs

Expect to cross 18 cattle grids. The last one will have a sign for "The River Cottage Jugiong," signalling you're almost there. You may also pass a few signs that say "Private Property, Do Not Trespass." Don’t worry - these don’t apply to you!

Wildlife & Livestock

Be on the lookout for sheep, cattle, and, if you’re lucky, a camel or two! Yes, it’s true - there’s even the chance of seeing camels along the way.

A Rocky Dip

You'll come across a small dip with some water. It’s not deep, just a bit rocky, so drive with care.

Nearing the Cottage

As you approach The River Cottage, you’ll notice the river on your left and the hills on your right - a perfect sign you're close.

Arriving at the Cottage

The driveway is on the right. Drive up to the gate behind the cottage, open it, and park behind the building. Please remember to close the gate behind you to keep the cows out, and enter through the back door.

Enjoy the peaceful countryside and take care as you travel - your country retreat awaits!
